Scores Of Worshippers Killed In Mosque Bombing Where The Emir Of Kano Worships
Scores of worshippers were killed this afternoon in a bomb explosion which ripped through the Central mosque where the Emir of Kano worships regularly on Fridays.
The explosion, which also left many injured, occurred ahead of Friday prayers.
While the security agencies are yet to issue a statement, some accounts say that over 200 persons may have been killed in the incident.

Letter From Boko Haram Insurgents Sack Thousands From Two Ancient Towns
Thousands of people have fled the ancient towns of Kukawa and Gubio in Borno State for the state capital, Maiduguri, after a letter reportedly written by the Islamist terror group, Boko Haram, threatened an imminent attack.
The fleeing residents arrived at the Baga motor park in numerous vehicles, with many moving into refugee camps while others sought out relations residing in Maiduguri.
“They had attacked other local government areas around us. So when we received threat letters from Boko Haram that they would attack us soon, we all had to flee for our lives,” said Modu Kaka, one of those who fled. He added, “We heard what happened to people in Damasak where a similar threat was made and carried by Boko Haram.”

Boko Haram Militants Kill 10 Soldiers, 35 Hunters In Roadside Bombing Near Mubi
Boko Haram militants today detonated a roadside bomb after ambushing a combination of soldiers and hunters in Mararaba near Mubi in Adamawa state.
At least 10 soldiers and 35 hunters were killed in the ambush that happened around 6PM Nigerian time according eyewitnesses and military sources.
A Nigerian army source said they could not immediately comment on the level of casualty but stated they were aware of the attack and still investigating.
Mararaba is 18 kilometers from Mubi, a township recently overrun by Boko Haram sect militants.
However, a push by hunters backed by Nigerian troops forced Boko Haram to beat a retreat in the area.
Our army source said some 100 Boko Haram militants have been killed in the area between Sunday and Wednesday night in renewed operations to recover territory from the militants.

Peters loses life battle to cancer
Former international Yomi Peters died on wednesday after a short battle with gastric cancer.
The 74-year-old former Stationery Stores player and coach gave up the ghost at the General Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos.
“He died at 9.20am and his body has been deposited in the mortuary,” Peters’ wife, Toyin told our correspondent on Wednesday morning.
Peters was earlier diagnosed of gastric tumour but after series of tests, it was discovered that he had gastric cancer.Continue...

Gunmen Kill Mobile Policeman, Flee With His Rifle In Bayelsa
A mobile policeman attached to the Bayelsa State Police Command has been killed, and his service rifle taken away by yet to be identified gunmen along Akenpai area, in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.
Confirming the killing, acting Police Public Relations Officer, Lawrence Eboka, said the deceased, who is a corporal, was shot dead at about 7 a.m. on Monday while on his way to resume duty.
An eyewitness, simply identified as Preye, said the unidentified gunmen ambushed the deceased policeman and caught him off guard. "He was shot from behind," the witness said.
The state police command via the spokesman said it is on top the of the situation and vowed to apprehend the killers and recover the stolen rifle.
"We are making all efforts to apprehend the killers and recover the stolen weapon," said Eboka.
Gardener rapes 10-year-old pupil in Lagos
The police have arrested a gardener, Godswill David, for allegedly defiling a primary 3 pupil in the Ikota Housing Estate, Lagos State.
It was learnt that the victim lived in the same house with David.
The house was said to be owned by the suspect’s father.
Our correspondent learnt that on the fateful day, 20-year-old David asked the victim to fetch him a sachet of detergent.Continue...

Students of the University of Jos continued their protests today following yesterday's chaos in the school over what they say is a 100% increase in school fees. The protesting students set fire in front of the school gate this afternoon, insisting that school authority must reduce their fees.
Nigerian man sentenced to death in Malaysia for drug trafficking
A 35 year old Nigerian man was sentenced to death today November 25th by a Malaysian High Court for trafficking in 251.66 gm of methapethamine.
Abuchi Ngwoke, was arrested in May 2012 at a Malaysian airport. He had swallowed the drugs.
The High court judge described Ngwoke's testimony about swallowing gemstones in Nigeria before traveling to Malaysia as absurd. A date is yet to be set for his execution.

Suspected Boko Haram militants have attacked two border towns in northeast Borno State, a local senator has confirmed.
The militants attacked Damasak and Ashigarchi towns, Mobbar Local Government, Monday morning, setting many houses ablaze. Scores may have been killed as hundreds of people fled to Niger Republic.
Kanar Bana, who ran into the bush said "They came at about 6 a.m., and fired shots into houses to force people out."
Nollywood Actress Wants Her Brother Fully Prosecuted For Raping A UNILAG Student
Renowned Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke-Linus has issued a statement asking the police to prosecute her brother of accused of raping a 300-level student of the University of Lagos.
In a statement issued by her press manager, Mrs. Okereke-Linus promised to support the victim in the course of the trial. In the state, Mrs. Okereke-Linus took umbrage at those who have used the rape allegations to smear hear in the media.
Daniel Okereke reportedly lured the UNILAG student to his home in Maryland area of Lagos, tied her up with the aid of a security guard and then raped her. Mr. Okereke has been re-arrested and awaits prosecution by a team of police officer at the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department in Yaba, Lagos.

Jonathan to Obasanjo: I’m Nigeria’s best leader
President Goodluck Jonathan has described himself as the best leader to be produced by Nigeria.
The President said no leader since the country gained independence in 1960 had done better than himself for the country.
He, therefore, said the comment made by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in which the ex-President described Jonathan’s performance as below average, was untrue.

Nigerian military Injures Dozens of Football Fans in Maiduguri
Some residents of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, have accused Nigerian soldiers of assaulting them during an English Premiership football match yesterday. According to the residents who spoke to our correspondent, the soldiers stormed a compound near the Cinema House in the Wulari Jerusalem area of Maiduguri where football fans were gathered to watch a match between Arsenal Football Club and Manchester United.
“The soldiers just started beating people. They went into rooms to drag out some fans who ran for dear lives and beat them without mercy,” said one source who claimed to have witnessed the attack. Toddler Savagely Beaten By Nanny Survives Ordeal
A toddler savagely beaten by a nanny in Uganda survived the horrifying ordeal according to Ugandan news website The Investigator.
The video of the torture of the two year old went viral in the last few days after her father uploaded it to youtube.
The police in Uganda has arrested the nanny, Jolly Tumuhiirwe. She expected to appear before a judge on December 8th 2014 to face further charges that may include attempted murder.

Three killed, houses burnt in Ibadan
At least three people were killed and 10 houses destroyed by armed youths who invaded Born Photo, Isale Osi, Idi Arere and Popoyemoja in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The youth who operated freely for about two hours before policemen arrived at the scenes, also burnt or vandalised about 200 shops, several vehicles and a tricycle.

Maid captured on video torturing baby to appear in court on December 8
The Maid that was captured appearing to be torturing a toddler in a video is set to appear in court for a second hearing on December 8.
The video that went viral on social media on Friday depicting a maid torturing a two-year-old toddler has sparked mass outrage.
In the video, which went viral on Facebook, Jolly Tumuhirwe, a 22-year-old housemaid in Naalya in Kiwatule suburb, appears to be battering the baby with a hard object on the face. When the child starts vomiting, the video shows the maid throwing her heartlessly on the floor of the living room. She then beats her with a hard object before standing on the baby’s back several times and the toddler groaned in pain on the floor.Continue...
Boko Haram attacks Borno, kills 40
Not fewer than 43 villagers were killed on Wednesday after suspected Boko Haram militants attacked the Azaya Kura village of Mafa Local Government Area, Borno State.
Militants, who rode in many vehicles stormed the village at about 12:30 p.m. and started attacking the residents, burning down many houses as they carted away foodstuff, wares, and livestock. According to local vigilante Basiru Babagana, who escaped from the hands of the militants, "Boko Haram is hunting for men. They are not after women.
"Our village has been burnt down many people in our place killed."
Usman Yusuf, a local transporter, said "We were under attack on Wednesday. Nobody helped our people. As I am speaking to you more 40 people have been killed."

There's currently heavy police and SSS presence at the National Assembly in Abuja as the House of Reps reconvene today to discuss the proposed state of Emergency extension in Yobe, Adamawa and Borno state. Some people are saying that the security operatives are there to deny the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, access into the complex. A lot of other lawmakers were also denied access to the complex. Nigeria crash out of 2015 AFCON
African champions Nigeria crashed out of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday after playing a 2-2 draw with Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Uyo.
Two goals each from Tokelo Rantie and Sone Aluko in the 43rd, 48th, 67th and 90th minutes respectively, ensured that Nigeria will not be in Equatorial Guinea to defend the title, which they won in 2013 after finishing third in Group A with eight points.

Jungle Justice Meted Out To Man Plotting To Bomb Bus Station In Gombe
A man reportedly trying to plant explosives at the headquarters of state-run Gombe transport line was doused with gasoline set on fire after an angry mob piled used tires on him.
Eyewitnesses said the man who carried a bomb in his bag was waiting suspiciously to enter the Central Gombe motor park around 2:00pm. Vigilantes in the area accosted him when their suspicion heightened as he refused to open his black bag containing the bomb.
Ogun police arrest 17-year-old Beninoise, others for robbery
A cross-border armed robber, 17-year-old Beninoise Wilben Kende, has been arrested by the men of the Ogun State Police Command.
The police said Kende, whose accomplice, Woti Usa, was still at large, specialised in snatching motorcycles from their owners in the Owode area.
He was said to have been arrested on November 5, at the Oke Irinja area, Owode Yewa, after snatching a motorcycle from one Gbadebo Taiwo, a commercial okada rider, at gunpoint.
It was learnt that Taiwo was hired by Kende and his accomplice to take them to Ago Baba, but on the way he (Kende) deliberately dropped off one of his slippers.Continue...

Eagles arrves Uyo, solicit support from Nigerians
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have arrived at the Le Meridien Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo, ahead of the November 19 AFCON qualifier against South Africa, its Media Officer, Ben Alaiya, said on Monday.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Uyo, Alaiya said the team arrived with the squad that prosecuted last Saturday’s qualifier against Congo, who they defeated 2-0.

Gunmen reportedly attack Secondary school in Niger State
A week after a suicide bomber killed about 49 students at Govt Science Secondary school in Yobe state, gunmen attacked Limawa primary and secondary schools, Minna, Niger state this morning at about 10.30am, injuring many students.
According to an eye witness, the attackers shot sporadically in the air before using their machetes to inflict injuries on some students. It is not yet clear if they killed anyone but several students have been rushed to the hospital.
The Niger state Police command spokesperson DSP Ibrahim Gambari, who confirmed the incident, said the police are there now and normalcy has since been returned to the area.

Muslim Cleric kills 62-year-old woman, dumps corpse on bridge
The police in Lagos have arrested a cleric, Mr. Isiaka Akanbi, for allegedly killing a 62-year-old woman, Raliatu Kareem.
The police also accused Akanbi of stealing the deceased’s wallet and other personal effects.

10 killed, 60 Injured In Bauchi Female Suicide Bombing
At least 10 people were killed and some 60 others wounded Sunday when a female suicide bomber blew herself up at a busy mobile phone market in restive northeast Nigeria, a hospital source said.
The attack in the town of Azare in Bauchi state came just as vendors were packing up for the day and is the latest in a recent wave of suicide attacks.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the blast, but similar bombings have been carried out in the region by the Islamist militants of Boko Haram who are waging an insurgency against the government.Continue...
Military recaptures Chibok from Boko Haram
The authorities of the Nigerian military have said that the Special Forces have liberated the town of Chibok in Borno State from the control of Boko Haram.
It was stated that the troops had secured the town and had restored normalcy to the area.

Reigning African champions, Super Eagles of Nigeria, have revived their hopes of qualifying for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-0 win over the Red Devils of Congo in Point Noire, Congo.

Kano Suicide-Bomb Kills Six, Including Three Policemen
Three policemen were among six persons killed in Kano on Friday when a suspected suicide bomber detonated his bomb-laden vehicle in a petrol station queue on Maiduguri Road.
Police commissioner Shinaba Aderenle confirmed the explosion and fatalities, adding that the bomber disguised as if he was buying fuel at the filling station.
Some of the injured persons were taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in the city.

CAF names Equitorial Guinea as new host of AFCON 2015
The Confederation of African Football has announced Equatorial Guinea as the new host of the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 following the decision of the football body to drop Morocco 3 days ago.
CAF dropped Morocco as host of the football tournament on Tuesday November 11th following the nations request for postponement of the tournament in their country over Ebola fears.
A statement released by CAF this afternoon says the dates for the tournament will remain from Jan. 17-February 8 2015 and that four cities will be used for the tournament: Malabo, Bata, Mongomo and Ebebiyin. Find the full statement by CAF after the cut...
Fuel Scarcity in Ebonyi state
For the past 24 hours it has been difficult to get petrol in Abakaliki capital city of Ebonyi state due to reasons not yet known to many.
It all began at the early hours of yesterday and has since lasted up till the time of this post and nothing has been done about it. The problem which has caused the increase on transportation cost and also reducing the number of motorist on the road and leaving the people who wants to go to one place or the other stranded.
It was gathered that the only petrol station in operation is the NNPC mega filling station which has also as at the time of this post stopped selling fuel.

Boko Haram Militants Retake Chibok Again
Islamist militant group Boko Haram has returned to Chibok Township in Borno state, the scene of its most celebrated notorious kidnapping of over 200 high school girls in April 2014.
This time, the sect militants reportedly killed an unspecified number of villagers.
The rest of the villagers had escaped through bush parts and headed to Damboa after Nigerian troops fled the village.
Residents who spoke to SaharaReporters said the sect militants had arrived last night and began shooting randomly before heading to the village center to announce it has taken it over as part of its Islamist caliphate.

Trader kills customer during price negotiation
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a trader, Mr. Lawrence Ikonne, for allegedly killing a buyer, Isa Yaya, because the deceased haggled over the price of a commodity.
It waslearnt that the incident occurred at Ikonne’s residence on Afro Close, Afromedia Estate, Okokomaiko, Lagos.
According to source, Ikonne sold electronic appliances at the Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos.
