Ebonyi State Government Come For Two Companies That Sold Fairly Used Turbine plants to the former administration at $12 million without explanation on the maintenance cost.

Ritualist allegedly kills 21-year-old female student in Ogun
Men of Ogun State police command, Tuesday, uncovered a ritualist’s shrine at Eposo-Akaka, Isara, in Remo North Local Government of Ogun State with dismembered human parts suspected to be those of a female student of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Morenikeji Owolabi.
The shrine which was made with corrugated iron sheets in a cubicle form, contained boiled and smoked human parts.
Five suspected criminals allegedly involved in the act.

Woman stabs two-year-old son to death
The police in Ogun State have arrested a 26-year-old woman, Funmilayo Tijani, who allegedly stabbed her two-year-old son, Emmanuel, to death in the Sango Ota area of the state.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Funmilayo, a fashion designer, and her husband, identified simply as John, separated two years ago as a result of a quarrel.
It was gathered that Funmilayo had returned to stay in her father’s apartment with her only child after the separation.
Our correspondent learnt that on May 27, at about 4pm, Funmilayo’s neighbours on Ogunso Street, Orelope Estate, in the Egan, Sango area, noticed that she held a bloodstained knife and saw Emmanuel in a pool of blood.

EFCC arrests Ohakim for corruption
A former
Imo State governor, Ihedi Ohakim, was on Thursday arrested by operatives
of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Ohakim,
who was scheduled to visit the EFCC office in Abuja on Wednesday, had
shunned the invitation, prompting the commission to pick him up to
clarify and answer questions on an ongoing investigation into
allegations of corruption and embezzlement by his government.
The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Ohakim is in their custody.

Multiple bomb blast in Chad, police headquarters targeted, many killed
Multiple bomb explosion rocked the Chadian capital, N’Djamena this morning. Reports say suicide bombers who are believed to be members of Boko Haram attacked the Police Headquarters. Three students arrested For Internet Fraud in Ondo state
Three students, Fisayo Adetoro a 300 level student of Joseph Ayodele
Babalola University, (JABU) in Ikeji Arakeji, Osun state, Emmanuel Omole
and Wale Ayeni who are both students of the Federal University of
Technology Akure, (FUTA) all pictured above, have been arrested by the
Ondo state police command for engaging in internet fraud.
Announcing their arrest, the Ondo state police spokesperson, Oluwole

FG, marketers agree to end fuel scarcity next week
The Federal Government and petrol
marketers on Friday agreed to put an end to Nigeria’s fuel scarcity
problems before the close of business next week Saturday.
The Punch had reported exclusively that
the government would meet with the marketers on Friday in a bid to

Two suicide bombers leading a band of terrorists were among over a score
of those of them who died as troops succeeded in repelling the
terrorist attack on Shetimari in Borno State yesterday (Thursday)

Bomb Blast Rocks Yola Market, Many Feared Dead
A bomb blast suspected to be from a suicide bomber has occurred in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa state, north east Nigeria.
A resident of the town, Salihu Aliyu, told PREMIUM TIMES that the blast happened in front of the Jimeta main market at about 7:45pm.
“We just finished observing the Maghrib prayer when we heard a loud blast in the direction of the market,” he said.

Explosion Kills Seven In Baga, Maiduguri
Suspected terrorists have killed Seven people in Maiduguri, Borno state while Eight other sustained injuries.
Eyewitness account says the bomb exploded late Wednesday night at a military check-point at a mechanic workshop, opposite sector one Military Base and NNPC mega station, on Baga road in Maiduguri.
According to report, some suspicious looking young men were in a vehicle while approaching a check-point, they were stopped by soldiers who tried to search them in the process a bomb was detonated leading to the death of some people and destruction of vehicles around the check-point.
This will be the fifth attack by Boko Haram and second this week since the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari assumed office on May 29 2015.

Gunmen kill French tourist, shoot wife in Ebonyi
Gunmen Tuesday night attacked a French couple, who were visiting Ebonyi State, killing the husband and injuring the wife.
The State Governor, Dave Umahi disclosed this in a meeting with staff and students of Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakaliki.
He explained that the tourists got to Abaomege in Onicha Local Government Area of the state in the night from where they were planning to proceed to Calabar in Cross River State when they went into the bush and set their tent to rest.

The blast occurred at about 05:20pm at an area of timber sheds along Baga Road in the metropolis a few kilometres from Maimalari Barracks of the 7th Division of the Nigeria army.
A resident, Babagana Kana, told SaharaReporters by phone, ''We heard loud explosions in the timber sheds area about 100 metres away from sector 1 command, shortly soldiers started shooting so everyone fled. I couldn't wait to ascertain the number of casualties.”

The Swiss announced his decision at a hastily-arranged press conference on Tuesday after his secretary-general Jerome Valcke had earlier been implicated in the US Department of Justice's investigations into a $10 million payment to indicted former Fifa vice-president Jack Warner.
"I have thoroughly thought about my presidency and the 40 years Fifa has played in my life. I love Fifa more than anything else and I only want to do the best. I decided to stand again for election for the good of football," he told the gathered media.
