Keke driver burns to death after being allegedly chased by police men
According to Source, the incident happened early this morning at Gudu roundabout in Abuja. He said policemen in their van were chasing a Keke driver and during the chase, the Keke tumbled and caught fire. The only passenger in the Keke managed to escape unhurt but the driver wasn't so lucky. Bonario said seeing the Keke and driver on fire, the police quickly left the scene, leaving the man to burn to death. He said this enraged other Keke drivers and some people who witnessed the incident and they began to protest. He said it took the intervention of military men to disperse the protesters. Fresh attack in Baga, Mungulo village by Boko Haram members
Boko Haram members are currently attacking Dikwa, Baga and Mungulo villages in Borno state. According to reports, the sect members launched a fresh attack on the villagers in the early hours of today Wednesday February 4th. Nigerian troops and allied forces are currently engaging them in a gun battle.
Chadian soldiers, not violating Nigeria’s integrity, says DHQ
The Defence Headquarters on Tuesday denied media reports that troops from foreign countries operating in the ongoing campaign against the insurgency in the North-East were violating the nation’s territorial integrity.
The Defence authorities stated in a statement posted on the official web site of the military that the involvement of troops from Chad, Niger and Cameroon had not in any way compromised the territorial integrity of the country.
Niger Delta Militant Asari Dokubo Threatens Buhari, Amaechi, Sylva And niger Delta Voters Over General Elections
Niger Delta militant and leader of the Niger Delta Volunteers Force, Asari Dokubo has issued fresh threats against opposition politicians including APC Presidential candidate, Muhammad Buhari, promising a series of action against him and some opposition party leaders and voters from the Niger Delta region should the February 2015 general elections not go the way of President Goodluck Jonathan in the region.

Man Takes His Life In Uncompleted Building In Lagos
Residents of Ile-Iwe community in the Meiran area of Lagos State say they were shocked to see the dangling body of a stranger in an uncompleted building in the area.
Some of the residents told PUNCH Metro that the victim was on Thursday brought down dead from the rope with which he hung himself.
They added that efforts by the people in the community and the police to identify him had proved abortive.
Our correspondent gathered that the stranger, who wore a white caftan, took his life between Wednesday night and Thursday morning after sneaking into the building in the night of Wednesday.
Armed robbers attack bus passengers at Ore
A gang of armed robbers attacked a vehicle loaded with Lagos passengers who left from Akure this morning. The robbers, who were about 15 in number, attacked immediately after the toll gate in Ore. They stole money, beat up passengers and manged to escape into the bush before police arrived.

'If elected, I will ban importation of rice and tomatoes' - Buhari
The presidential candidate of the APC, Gen Muhammadu Buhari says he will ban the importation of commodities such as rice and tomatoes that can be produced in Nigeria if elected. Buhari said this while speaking to members of the organized private sector in Lagos yesterday February 2nd
"How can Nigeria be importing virtually everything? How can we be importing even tomatoes? If I am elected, basic items like rice and tomatoes, which we have the capacity to produce, will be banned from being imported" he said
Suicide bomber strikes near Jonathan’s rally venue
A lone suicide bomber blew herself up near the Gombe Stadium, venue of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign in Gombe State on Monday.
Before the incident which occurred minutes after the rally ended, suspected assailants threw explosives at three high courts in Port Harcourt, Degema and Isiokpo in Rivers State. They also vandalised another court in Omoku.
The Gombe bomber killed two passers-by and injured 18 others while the car used by her was engulfed by fire.

Insecurity forces Jonathan to cancel Yobe rally
Barring any last minute change in plan, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential rally earlier fixed for Monday (today) in Damaturu, Yobe State will no longer hold.
President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo and other top officials of the PDP were earlier scheduled to take the President’s re-election campaign to Gombe and Damaturu today.
Our correspondent however learnt that a decision to call off the Damaturu rally was taken on Saturday after members of the President’s advance team had already arrived the state capital.
Eight Killed In Suicide Bombing In Potiskum, Yobe State
Eight people were killed Sunday afternoon in a new suicide bomb attack in Potiskum, the capital of Yobe State in northeast Nigeria. No group had taken responsibility for the attack, but a security operative in the state said Boko Haram, an Islamist terrorist group was most likely behind it.
Several residents of the terror-prone capital told a correspondent of SaharaReporters that the explosions occurred at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday in front of the residence of a politician described as a candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the House of Representatives. One of the residents, Bundi Mali, said the bomber arrived at the residence of the politician and detonated the explosives in the midst of people after shouting “Allah Akbar!” or “God is great!”
Our sources said the explosive killed eight civilians on the spot, with many others sustaining various degrees of injuries.
A source at a hospital in Potiskum said several dead bodies had been deposited in their mortuary.
Heavy Artillery Fire As Boko Haram Militants Attack Maiduguri Again
At least ten civilians were killed in Maiduguri early yesterday's morning as Boko Haram militants attack the city of Maiduguri with Rocket Propelled Grenades and heavy weapons. Several homes were damaged in the fierce fight as Nigerian troops working with civilian Joint Task Force tried to repel the militants.

The terrorists who in their disarray strayed towards Bama, Ngom, Alou, Delwa and Mafa in the night have now been effectively contained. Mopping up operation is ongoing. Several weapons, arms and ammunition including two armoured vehicles and two artillery guns as well as 17 Hilux vehicles have been captured from them. Several terrorists also died.
