Pipeline explosion at Takwa Bay

Some suspected vandals have allegedly punctured petroleum pipeline at the Takwa Bay area of Lagos thereby causing a shut down in the lines of fuel distribution.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said the incident has caused a huge explosion in the area and fire has engulfed the area where the incident occurred.

The NEMA spokesperson Ibrahim Farinloye told sunnewsonline.com that the incident occurred in the middle of the night, adding that, “valves and supplies have been shut down to suffocate the fire.”
He said that safety officials from the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC) Atlas Cove base are already working to put out the fire.
