BBC African Footballer Award: Enyeama battles Toure, Gervinho

Super Eagles first choice keeper, Vincent Enyeama  has been nominated for BBC’s African Footballer of the  year award.

The Lille of France keeper is amongst the five nominees for  the award billed for December.

Enyeama is nominated alongside  title holder Yaya Toure,  Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Yacine Brahimi and Gervinho.

While this season has not seen the best of starts for the Nigerian number one shot stopper, last season was one of the best for him.

He kept 21 clean sheets for French club Lille, and was also instrumental in Nigeria reaching the last 16 at the World Cup in Brazil.

The winner will be decided by votes from fans of the game, with voting closing on the 24th of November.

The winner will be announced on  Monday  December 1, 2104.
