An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by a
suspected Boko Haram member on Sunday injured at least four people at a
Maiduguri market in Borno State. This explosion occurred less than 24
hours after Boko Haram suicide bombers killed 28 people attending a
mosque for their daily prayers.
An eyewitness, confirmed to SaharaReporters that there was 'no loss of life [from this attack], only 4 people [were left] critically injured, they had been taken to State Specialist Hospital .”
The latest series of explosions have taken place only 48 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari vowed in his Inaugural Address to end Boko Haram. Since his address Borno State has experienced no less than three separate bombing attacks.
Maiduguri has returned to normal operations, but the Nigerian military continue to check individuals and vehicles at the entrance to the main markets in the city.
