Hundreds Of Boko Haram Terrorists Raid Villages Between Borno And Adamawa
Hundreds of militants rode on bicycles and raided the villages of Daigu and Pumpumd, both of which are border towns between Adamawa State and Borno State.
A leader of a vigilante group in Mussa District, Stephen Apagu, confirmed to SaharaReporters that hundreds of militants arrived on bicycles to attack the communities on Sunday evening.
He said that ’’five civilians were shot dead and others suffered gunshot wounds in Daigu village near lassa on Sunday evening at about 9:30pm.’’
He added that "they also attacked Pumpumd village yesterday, but people fled into bushes some with wounds.''

Boko Haram members kills 9 in Konduga
Suspected Boko Haram members in the early hours of today attacked Mailari village in Konduga LGA in Borno state killing no fewer than 9 people and injuring 10. The attack was confirmed by the state's police commissioner, Aderemi Opadukun.
Boko Haram Attacks Kogi DSS Office, Frees 30 Suspects
No fewer than 30 people detained at the Kogi State office of the Directorate of State Service were freed on Friday night when it was attacked by gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect.
This was as four people, including an anti-riot policeman, were reportedly killed in the attack by the invading insurgents.
The attackers were said to have immediately made for the cell of the DSS office located along Hassan Katsina Road, Lokoja, and released all suspects kept there after gaining entrance.

There is tension in Onitsha Main Market, Anambra state as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed the market after arresting seven traders at the Enugu International Airport for alleged money laundering.
Sunday Sun gathered that the development sparked fears especially among importers and operators of Bureau de Change in the market.
A source said the arrested traders who were traveling either to China or Dubai were carrying with them dollars more than the stipulated approved amount for those traveling outside Nigeria, adding that some had $100,000, while others were in possession of $60,000. The officially allowed maximum travel allowance is $5000.

A Police constable went on rampage on a shooting spree on Friday in Yobe state, killing two inspectors before turning the gun on himself.
The incident happened at about 6:40 am on Friday at Nengere Local Government area of the state following a disagreement among the policemen.

Landlord Stabs Tenant Over Lady In Edo
Doctors at the Central Hospital in Benin City are battling to save the life of one Alex Aigbogun who was stabbed in the stomach by his landlord, simply identified as Enogieru.
The victim was brought to the hospital at about 9:00am Wednesday by policemen in a Hilux van.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred at about 12:00midnight, but the victim’s family has no vehicle or money to take him to the hospital.
A neighbor to the victim said police told them there was no fuel in their vehicle to convey the victim to the hospital and that was why the victim was covered with cloth till daybreak.

5,000 Soldiers Involved In Fight Against Boko Haram Get Promotion
In an effort to boost the morale of troops involved in the anti-insurgency fight, the Nigerian Army has approved the promotion of 5,000 soldiers deployed to battle against Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East.
The Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, who made this disclosure, also revealed that 3,032 soldiers who were recalled from dismissal had been reinstated into the ongoing operation against the insurgents in the North-East.
The COAS made this known during the opening ceremony of the Chief of Army Staff Third Quarter Conference in Abuja on Monday.

A new audio message purportedly from Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau calls the Nigerian army liars for saying troops have regained territory from the militant Islamist group.

Lagos Hospital Detains Woman For More Than A Month Over Unpaid Bills
Samaria Hospital, a private medical facility in Lagos, has detained a woman for more than one month over the woman’s failure to pay her bills.
The hospital, which is based in the Ikotun Egbe area of Lagos, has detained Jessica Ugwuoke since August 12, 2015, after the woman and her relatives said they could not afford to pay the bill for her Caesarean section (CS).
Mrs. Ugwuoke was transferred from a maternity clinic to Samaria Hospital, which is located on Kudaki Road near Hostel bus stop in Egbe, Lagos State. The patient’s husband, Tochukwu Ugwuoke, was asked to pay N30,000 for blood transfusion into his wife, reported to have lost a lot of blood during labor. The couple’s birth died.

Suspect selling properties to return N103m loot — ICPC
The Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Mr. Ekpo Nta, on Thursday, said a Federal Pay Officer who allegedly diverted N103m meant for three Federal Government colleges had been selling off his properties to pay back the loot.
The ICPC Chairman said while the commission had recovered N53m from the suspect, he would remain in the commission’s custody till the recovery of the balance.

Nigerian army reopens primary school in Gwoza, restates commitment to western education
To further assist returnees and other Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) with education of their children, the Nigerian military has reopened a coeducational Primary School in Gwoza, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State yesterday.
The military in conjunction with other security agencies and other security stakeholders have placed adequate security measures to ensure the pupils and teachers safety and security. Already classes have commenced and the turn out was quite impressive.
The reopening of the primary school in Gwoza is significant as the eradication of western education is part of the aims of Boko Haram in their murderous campaign of terror.

Diamond Bank staff sent to Ikoyi Prison over fraud
Justice Mohammed Yunusa of a Federal High Court, Lagos, on Thursday remanded a Diamond Bank employee, Obioha Okengwu, at Ikoyi Prisons for allegedly defrauding the bank of N111.2 million.
The accused, a graduate of Abia State University, whose address was not given, is standing trial on a nine-count charge bordering on conspiracy and fraud.
