*Graphic Photo: Inter Tribal Clash in Akowa Imo state

This is very disturbing. It is as a result of the clash between Igbo and Hausa in Akowa, Imo state, six persons are said to have died as a result of the clash and a many others injured.

According to reports from source, an Hausa man killed two people indigenes of Akowa and also killed himself. The aggrieved indigenes retaliated resulting to the death of four others.

According to Okeoma News, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state,Andrew Enwerem, a Deputy Superintendent of police, DSP, said that his office has received a report that three persons were killed in the attack, while several others were injured and receiving treatments at various hospitals.

The police spokesperson further disclosed that on receiving the information, the state commissioner of police, CP, Mr Taiwo Lakanu, personally mobilised officers and led operation to the community where normalcy has been restored.

Mr Enwerem said that the police officers have take over the community, while investigation into the cause of the violence and subsequently the killings and with the view of bringing the perpetrators to justice have immediately been launched.
