Men of the Ogun State police command on Saturday arrested 16
suspected cult members in Itori town, in the Ewekoro Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Muyiwa
Adejobi, said eight of the suspects were students of the S.A. Adegbenro ICT
Polytechnic.
The PPRO said its anti-crime detectives attached to the
Ewekoro Police Division arrested the suspects while they were initiating new
members.
He said, “The policemen burst into the initiation arena in
Itori and arrested 16 suspects, including eight students of the ICT
polytechnic.”
Those arrested include Akintunde Paul, Seyi Meshinoye,
Fowoshade Gbemisola, Dare Olabode, Oyetayo Bolaji, and Akintunde Femi.
Others are Ajibola Abiola, Amosun Eniola, Shola Ogunniyi,
Fashina Micheal, Bello Oyedeji, Adeshola Amore, Ebi Victor, Ogunsola Ibrahim,
Babatunde Allyson, and Awobajo Babatunde.
Adejobi said the suspects declined to mention the group they
belonged to.
He said the suspects had been taken to the command
headquarters on the order of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikemefuna Okoye.
